Latest update on the US-Iran situation
Yesterday, I posted about Trump’s positive statements regarding a potential peace deal, and oil prices dropped sharply.
Today, the United States struck ships in southern Iran that were attempting to lay mines and set up missile launch sites. Oil prices immediately rebounded.
Right now, $USOUSD is trading at $95.40, up 1.58% on Bitget.
The situation shows that a genuine peace deal remains uncertain. Tensions could flare up again quickly and cause prices to swing in either direction.
At this point, I’m thinking a full agreement is possible but will likely take more time. So, expect oil to stay volatile.

Trump announced that the United States and Iran are working closely on an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Oil prices fell sharply following this news. Brent is now below $99, and $USO on Bitget is currently at $93.92.
Will the war finally end, or is this yet another deal that won’t happen?
I asked GetAgent on Bitget to analyze the situation. The market now expects less tension in the region, which is driving oil prices down.
My prediction is that WTI will end the week below $89 if the good news continues.
The United States wants Iran to give up its enriched uranium and fully open the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran is demanding a 60-day extension of the ceasefire, sanctions relief, and the lifting of the blockade.
