After coaching my 6-year-old’s game, I had to check myself…
He hit a double in his first at-bat. Struck out in his second.
Later, I asked him:
“Do you think I’m too hard on you out there?”
He looked at me and said,
“When you tell me I’m swinging up, it distracts me. I already know I’m missing under, so I just need to level out my swing.”
Didn’t expect that.
Reminder to self:
Sometimes the best thing I can do is sit back, be present, and enjoy watching my son fall in love with the game I’ve loved my whole life.
