The thing is, I could get on board with these youth targets if they were to replace the likes of Willock, Murphy, Krafth etc. but we're selling our star players to replace with them. It's just madness.

I don’t think anyone is saying next season is a write off but it took Hall and Tino a year to become first team regulars. Gordon needed half a season too. Just don’t assume it’s CL challenge next season. A top eight finish will be the target I’d imagine and hopefully long cup runs again. People need to understand what Newcastle are. They are miles behind the top clubs on and off the pitch

This is just madness. 45% of the league have Europe to contend with, we don't. If we're finishing in and around eighth (which we only missed by four points this year) then Howe will not survive (and rightly so). We should be aiming for top 5, there is no excuse.

Let's be real. Pope was never the elite GK signing we hoped for early on, he was a steady stop-gap. He performed admirably but since his shoulder injury he's had quite a drop off.
I wish him well but look forward to not bricking it every time he charges out of his area.

So this goalkeeper signing confirms Pope stays and starts the season as number one. I can't see a scenario where we spend £40m on Trafford. £60m on two goalkeepers would be wild but happy for anyone to tell me otherwise. Interesting times ahead.

It's no wonder the likes of Isak, Gordon, Tonali, Tino all want out.
Sold the ambition of being Man City/Liverpool, the reality is we're trying to be Brentford/Brighton.
You don't get to the top by selling your best players year on year. Isak, Gordon and Tonali all sold in 12 months would be unacceptable. I understand player trading happens but at that rate? Really?
