District heating is a great way to deliver heating to people efficiently using a variety of energy sources.
But we have work to do: currently about 60% of district heating is based on burning fossil fuels and biomass faces sustainability issues.

3/8 But how? At the mine water treatment scheme, the @CoalAuthority pumps the water out of the mine, treats it to prevent pollution, and harvests the energy with a heat pump to be sent into homes 💧🏘️

Towns are ground zero, for transition. Networks for DHC help to make big steps. Get off gas. But how sustainable are they, when still depending on central high T heat sources? Industry will also need to change. Burning garbage is not good, if it can be avoided.
