one of the biggest upgrades in Metis V8 is onchain weight splitting at fill time: x.com/JupiterExchange/status…
whenever a pair has liquidity across multiple supported AMMs, Jupiter can now split across them onchain with the right weights to get you the best fill.
the key part: this is fully composable.
for example:
new token → SOL → USDC
even if the new token only has one market, the SOL → USDC leg is a mature pair with many markets. on that second leg, Jupiter can split across multiple SOL-USDC AMMs at fill time, directly inside the route.
same for buying:
USDC → SOL → new token
you can think of this as a Meta AMM.
for every pair, Jupiter wraps all supported same-pair AMMs into one virtual liquidity layer. the router can then treat it like a single AMM, while the onchain program finds the best weights across the underlying venues at execution time.
that means it works naturally across:
- direct swaps
- hopping routes
- split routes
- split → merge → hop routes
- any route where the pair can be wrapped this way
and since this goes live, we support any pairs that allow such wrapping.
