ALT Bystander CPR = member of the public performing CPR before the ambulance arrives.
Rescue breaths = another term for mouth to mouth.
BLS = stands for basic life support, the essential steps to take to help save a life such as calling 999, CPR and defib use.
ALT chain of survival = the sequence of actions that give someone the best chance of surviving a cardiac arrest. Each link is important.
AED/PAD/defib = used interchangeably but all refer to the same lifesaving device. Delivers a shock to the heart to help it beat normally again.
