I've been building my business in Crypto for about five years now
I can't lie, I have had months where my revenue has gone from $40K down to $2K
I've never shown this much strength during a bear market, my business is still generating multi-6 figures a year
Here are lessons that could be invaluable for you:
Consistency is king: The hardest part about building a person brand is that you need to be consistent. I have days where I really don't feel like uploading but I do it anyway, because I understand attention is fickle
Become an authority, or die: If you don't leverage the time you're putting into your work to become better and eventually
When you shine, REALLY shine: During moments where you're driving massive amounts of attention to your business, I have found building an offer or something that directly comes from you in general is much higher leverage than working on sponsorships
You should be MORE stressed when you're gathering attention because you need to understand it'll more than likely not stay that way forever. CAPTURE!
I remember looking at a podcast from
@chooserich & one of the questions was surrounding one of his viral posts with this actor he hired
He said something like "I've gotta be honest, we were MORE stressed after the post went viral because we had to think about how we were going to monetize this attention while it was there!"
BE CONTROVERSIAL: I used to think you need to just be casual & it'll work out for you
I've learned that the times I have been at my best have been the times I put caution to the wind & have said exactly what's on my mind
I know many that would never be this transparent with their content & it's fine if you aren't, but I've found it helps me build a connection worth something with my audience
Learn the game: You can't just keep doing the same thing over and over. You need to constantly reinvent yourself
BE a flip flopper, BE different, TRY new things... Even if they don't work out a majority of the time you'll be thankful you kept trying to do different things in a world of humans that are habitual by nature
LIFESTYLE CREEP IS REAL... DO NOT FALL FOR IT: When I started having massive 50K months I made the unfortunate decision to buy a car in cash, spend massive amounts of money on charity work for my discord because I thought the printer would be endless
I even burned $30K on memecoins to try to incubate attention into smaller chains
You should expect the printer to have an expiration date & should at the very minimum build a financial base to not have to care about the bear market or any other market conditions
DROP THE EGO: You don't know better, don't pretend like you do
I did over $5 million dollars in raises for Crypto Gaming brands back last bull, majority of it as a result of learning from people in the space with more experience than me
If you stay curious & don't think you're a know it all, I promise you'll make infinitely more capital here
A lot of the reason I really struggled last bear is because I simply monetized off attention & that leads me to my last point
I saw a video by
@leonabboud & it talked about one very simple concept
Would you rather BE AN INFLUENCER or BE INFLUENTIAL?
When he asked others this question, most said "Obviously I'd rather be an influencer!"
However, the true answer & unlock is that being influential is significantly more important
At a fraction of the viewership, I'm able to monetize well because I've built TRUST & CURATED my audience to fit exactly what I want to build
I still remember some videos that'd get less than 1,000 views converting over a million dollars
You should always aim to be influential because attention is constantly fleeting
BONUS: REPEAT YOURSELF MORE OFTEN: You watch your videos every day & you probably get sick of saying the same thing
You probably think to yourself that your audience will get sick of hearing the same thing
Thing is, a fair amount of my viewers are seeing my videos for the first time ever & I would argue a majority of them aren't clicking on every single upload
You can & should repeat your core ethos to your audience whenever you feel like it, because odds are this is their first time ever looking at one of your videos
