#PostCabinetBrief Cabinet considered and noted the Principles for the Amendment of the Water Act, necessitated by the need to realign the Act to the Constitution and update it to the current development agenda, as water is essential for all sectors of the economy. The Amendments aim at judicious management and equitable allocation of water, preserving sources for future generations, and transforming the Act into a comprehensive legal framework integrating constitutional imperatives, economic considerations, environmental sustainability, institutional accountability, and stronger regulatory oversight.
