FWIW, @VictorDayan1 blocked me immediately after his own QT of this reply, so I am no longer able to respond to this thread. His response is simply wrong. If 1000 people get an index procedure, 50 of those people get a reintervention with a mean time of 6 years, it does not…
Correct. Mean time to redo from a cohort of patients that all had redo procedures is not a measure of the typical duration of valve durability. It’s just a descriptive stat of when the redo procedures occurred in those patients.

…mean that the “average patient” is getting a reintervention at 6 years, or anything close to that. It’s willful innumeracy driven by an agenda.

Don’t cook me NBA dorks. But is Jalen. Brunson’s career the best “slow burn” arc ever? second round pick -> oh this guy is actually a pleasant surprise -> maybe you can build a team around this guy as a first option -> 45 points on the road to win Finals MVP
Jun 14
I gave Brunson a ton of shit for that paycut but a $50 million dollar bet to become an actual god in New York City is a pretty solid ROI.

Can confirm. Have one for each of our boys and they’re great. Kids will listen to stories or music, they can control it easily themselves and feel pride in choosing the story or music card they want.
A great alternative to iPads for flights and road trips. Yoto is what they are called. It’s a small durable box that plays stories via cards you insert. Not sponsored. Should be. I would shill for this company all day.

Not just to boomers, but also millennials who figured out basic life skills like “how to cook a few meals that offer some reasonable combination of price, taste, effort, and nutritional value” Put me firmly in camp “you people can’t do anything” on this round of discourse
Replying to @CryptoMikli
to boomers the problem is “youre spending too much on lunch” instead of asking why the restaurants are charging $28 for lunch in the first place

I am willing to accept that there is in fact a small subset of people for whom there are legitimate excuses. But the vast majority of “DoorDash-should-be-a-human-right” types are just babies

One of the most relatable and important parenting takes I’ve ever seen
It’s embarrassing to admit that for me, the most annoying part of raising kids is: if I want my kids to be curious & independent, then I need to say yes enthusiastically when they ask if they can make eggs and I know I’m about to have the most annoying 15 minutes in human history

Increasingly convinced based on my TL that this is the single greatest tweet of our time
Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

First time pressing “The Beast” (106 pounder) this year! One funny thing about pressing heavier cast-iron bells is that the lift actually changes a bit with very large kettlebells because of the sheer size of the bell and handle…

It’s not really noticeable up to about an 88 pounder. The 97 and 106 are so large and have slightly bigger handles, so the leverage for the press actually changes - not necessarily harder or easier per se, but noticeable.

This is so dumb. You can get everything on this list except for “tour the entire country, see the sights” from local rec-league sports that don’t cost $5,000 per year per kid, and you can take that money (if you have it) to do your own traveling and sightseeing..,
Travel sports: - guaranteed family time every weekend - tour the entire country, see the sights - kids gain athletic skills and priceless memories - chance at scholarships/NIL money - kids stay out of trouble - make friends with people in town This is supposed to be “bad”?

We got American “gym rats” out here like “DeAdLiFtS hUrT mY bAcK” and Taiwan has 89-91 year old grannies moving weight @sam_gzstrength @wolfstrength
WATCH: Taiwanese grandmothers aged 89 and 91 train at the gym. An increasing number of elderly people in Taiwan’s super-aged society are hitting the gym to stay healthy, both physically and mentally.

Yeah, yeah, high handle trap bar, I know. Sensible enough modification given the advanced age. I’ll allow it.

One thing I remain proud of is that my all-time best deadlift is (still, for now) above the clean & jerk world record…
A 528 pound / 240 kg deadlift isn’t THAT impressive😤 Oh wait…

It’s been some time since I pulled that weight, and a vague goal I have is to log that lift (or something approaching it) in a competitive meet sometime in my 40’s to have one official meet-recorded deadlift in the 600’s…
