The session on "Chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease: risk assessment and reduction in the multimorbid patient" highlights a crucial challenge in clinical practice. Patients with CKD face a significantly increased risk of cardiovascular disease, driven by both traditional risk factors (e.g. hypertension, diabetes) and kidney-specific mechanisms such as inflammation and metabolic disturbances.
