Today's blog is a quick recap of the recent OpenBMC Meetup held on May 19th at the Meta Campus in Menlo Park. It was a great first step in the journey to address the key issues of fragmentation, deployment and maintenance of code at scale, and the need for shared standards that are impacting the community at all levels - including developers, hyperscalers, silicon vendors, and ecosystem partners. Read on to learn more about this inaugural event and how you can get involved going forward: hubs.ly/Q04jgdTv0 #OpenBMC

Our first-ever OpenBMC Meetup is in the books, and by every metric it was a success. A big thank you to everyone who attended in-person and virtually, and to Meta for partnering with us and hosting the event. What stood out yesterday wasn’t just the presentations, but the mix of people in the room: operators, silicon vendors, firmware engineers, and platform teams - all working the same problems from different angles. The conversations dug into upstream contributions, hardware abstraction, secure update flows, and how to run OpenBMC reliably at scale. We compared notes on what actually works in the field across fleet operations, security, observability, and updates at scale. To keep that collaboration going between meetups, we have launched an OpenBMC developer community space at: hubs.ly/Q04hjGln0 We invite you to get involved with this growing community and stay in touch for future events like this one!

Today we are proud to announce an accelerated “shift left” initiative for Arm Total Design, a result of our collaboration with Arm and Synopsys. This joint effort introduces an enhancement to the Synopsys ASIC design flow that brings AMI firmware verification forward from the silicon prototype phase to the RTL validation stage, well before initial tape-out. Shifting these critical steps left complements the Arm Total Design chiplet strategy and helps significantly reduce custom silicon design costs, shorten product time-to-market, and mitigates capital and complexity-related risks.
