At the end of last year, my incredibly talented colleague @AMNemeth wrote about her personal journey with wellbeing and mental health. For anyone starting work today after the Christmas break, her writing contains some great reminders for us all to take care of ourselves first 💙
Let's face it: it's been a tough year. Learn individual and organizational shifts you can make for greater #wellbeing in 2021, based on research from the #WellbeingProject and our own experience here at MovingWorlds: zcu.io/KcCL #companyculture #mentalhealth

It is *so hard* for people in helping professions to take care of ourselves despite knowing we need to. @AMNemeth wrote this AMAZING piece with tons of practical insight and cool science ❤️❤️❤️❤️ blog.movingworlds.org/social…

I think not. But that's the point. We're supposed to revere and love the founding fathers no matter what just as Trump wants us to revere and love him no matter what. Trump supporters call their fealty, freedom. We call their fealty, tyranny. 10/11

Whenever I get discouraged and want to quit something, I remember the words of my then 3 year-old after she puked carrots all over the living room floor: "I'm gonna need more carrots."

The amnesia is strong today. But you know who doesn’t forget? Black people. I’m confused about why you’re confused — and also not.

While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.

There is something achingly on-point about Trump supporters physically, but ineffectually, taking over the Capitol just as Jon Ossoff is declared the winner in Georgia and Republicans officially lose control of both chambers.

This is what domestic terrorism looks like. This is Donald Trump’s America. Imagine the police response if these were Black people BREAKING INTO the Capitol. If you don’t see white supremacy and a total threat to democracy when you see this, it’s because you don’t want to.
Scores of Trump supporters breached the Capitol building and neared the Senate floor on Wednesday afternoon as thousands cheered and clashed with police in front of the building. nyti.ms/3rZGFkO

Professionalism doesn't mean suppressing our emotions. It's about expressing them in a way that maintains standards of respect and skill. Professionals aren't immune to anger, fear, or sadness. They just refuse to let these emotions compromise their civility and competence.

Media outlets show their callousness and insensitivity every time they refer to domestic terrorists as militia groups. White supremacists are the greatest domestic terrorist threat of our time; they’re terrorizing folks all over and still outlets are calling them militia groups.

Anyone else has “Phantom Meeting Syndrome” where whenever you are not in a meeting, you feel like you are playing hooky from one, and so you have this pervasive hyper-vigilance combined with guilt for no reason?

There are no possessions or credentials in life that can substitute for a sense of self-worth. Self-respect comes from being proud of how we live, not what we acquire. It grows through pursuing purpose, not seeking status. It's about mattering to others, not outshining them.

Hard to express my joy and gratitude right now as I completed my Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at Oxford. I don’t know what’s ahead. For now, it will be Netflix, reading and sleep. 😴
