Email from @mcgillu: "It's a perfect opportunity for you to review the details of your holdings in the McGill University Pension Plan (MUPP)."
This is true but not in the way #McGill thinks. (Spoiler: your pension is worse than everywhere and maybe not even a pension!)

"Steering" is the practice commonly used by academic administrators that aims to give "soft" directives in a way that the administration can plausibly deny *are* directives. It is fundamentally dishonest and undermines #collegialgovernance. 1/8
Following our agreement with @mcgillu, @AMPL_AMPD , & AMPFA: #McGill has officially dropped its challenge to our certification before the Quebec labour tribunal. We expect to be certified imminently. Thanks especially to AMPL and everyone who has helped make this happen!
Oh, also: thank you, thank you to @CAUT_ACPPU & @FQPPU, whose financial assistance and other support has been critical. We would not have made it this far without them!
To clarify: McGill has dropped its principal challenge (concerning our existence). It will continue to challenge on scope (e.g., contract academic staff) and other membership eligibility questions (Dept. Chairs and Associate Deans). But that won't stop our imminent certification.
Education profs knew what was at stake when we supported @AMPL_AMPD on the picket line the first time they went on strike back in February. We are stronger together.
