The foundation of #primarycare is relational, the basis of #trust. When both are present, #pophealth and #equity improve. See this great article by @AMorrisSinger in @stat on this topic. @sinsipuede @DorothySiemon @Asaf_Bitton @RichardBaron17 @J_Schilz @kgrumbach @FMresearchplcy
So many good recommendations here. Both clinicians and patients seek meaningful connections with each other. We've got urgent work to do to rebuild connections, communication, culture post-COVID. @AMorrisSinger @statnews @WolfsonD @AnnGreiner1 ow.ly/RpST50J4uaP

2 years into the pandemic, it’s time to acknowledge that health care professionals are not an inexhaustible resource. Real change is needed to make sure that those who care for others, are well-cared for themselves. Implementing great ideas below will make a big difference.

"...factor in the general failure of these approaches is that they did not acknowledge and address the needs of health care workers for meaningful connections with their patients, their institutions, and their colleagues." And that's why we need programs like #3rdConversation!

Elevating the importance of #BuildingTrust between patients, their institutions & colleagues as an essential organizing principle is a key component to addressing the growing burnout epidemic accelerated by #COVID19. @AMorrisSinger @statnews statnews.com/2022/05/06/heal…

14/ But the reality is that this pandemic isn't over any time soon. And I believe that if we want to avoid these awful situations where we have to choose between lockdowns and deaths we should give people the chance to know whether they are infectious or not.

Dear hospital admin, A mandatory learning module on #COVID19 isn’t helpful right now. We are fully aware of the risks we are currently taking on the front lines. We need adequate PPE and actual support. Sincerely, Every ER doctor

South Korea continues to show signs that its epidemic is abating, today reporting 74 new cases. Their massive testing effort aimed at identifying and isolating infected patients was no doubt a key part of their success in combatting virus, as were their early mitigation steps.

The issue of hospital capacity is a real problem. I will share this now pertaining to NY because Governor Cuomo shared these numbers today. Brace yourself. The green and yellow bars are how many ICU beds (w vents) are needed. See the little red line? That’s how many we have.10/

We need an all hands approach to making our front line health care workers, nursing home staff & docs feel safe. Period. If not they will agitate & many wont show up. People who can change this are aware and need to step up. 7/

#SocialDistancing crucial for #COVID19 even when testing more widespread and folks get neg tests. Why? #EBM — PCR specificity is very high, but sensitivity of nasal swabs isn’t as great (and test performance NOT being reported well!). Lots of FN possible, so self-quarantine pls!
