Research group at the University of Kent (UK), developing advanced optical systems for imaging and sensing, with applications in medicine, science and industry.
On October 25th, @osaukc joined the Kent Engineering Society's opening event! 🚀 Their president shared their mission and ways of teaming up with networks and charities, such as @RemapUK, which helps people with disabilities living a more independent life.
Last Tuesday, the group was pleased to host an industry talk given by Charles Bibas, CEO of #Tecnica Inc. 💡
He demonstrated the benefits of his patented Lens-Free Optical Scanner (LFOS), an innovative solution for high-precision, large-area 3D printing (#SLS) (1/3)
Charles also visited the labs of the AOG researchers, where the group’s PhD students and post-docs informally explained their area of research and potential applications. (2/3)
Had an awesome time at the Cathedral yesterday attending @unikentphysics student graduations - 1st time being on the "other side" as an academic member of staff!
Was also great seeing some of our students (esp @AOGKent) receiving very well-deserved prizes, well done to them! 😎
Congratulations to our NETLAS PhD Students @alejandroMarJim Marie KLUFTS Rene Riha, Irene Lamoso, Ashim Bashir, Esteban Proano, @sacha_grelet, Philipp Tatar-Mathes for their presentations at the Photonics West Conference, San Francisco, 28 Jan - 2 Feb 2023! Well done everyone!
If you're interested in coming to Canterbury to join us @unikentphysics for your PhD in optics/biomedical optics, we have several projects which are eligible for fully-funded EPSRC studentships (competitively awarded), details here: research.kent.ac.uk/applied-…
Presentation from past PhD student, Dr Sophie Caujolle on her experience of transitioning to industry from academia. Sophie completed her PhD in @AOGKent, now she works as Technology Scout at Heidelberg Engineering
Friday 28th October, at 6 pm in Kennedy Seminar Room 2 @UniKent
Enjoyed @ICLHamlynRobots symposium workshop on Sensing and biophotonics for surgical robotics and in-vivo diagnostics with @MikeHughes_Kent . And getting best poster award was very nice as well 😊 thanks to all collaborators @AOGKent who made it possible!
Many thanks @KnightOptical for accepting our students visiting you. Such visits are extremely important for their formation as future specialists in Photonics @AOGKent, @unikentphysics, @NetlasN
A big thank you for attending the #CC22 conference, whether you traveled all the way to our Canterbury campus or you attended online! A celebration of Prof. Podoleanu's career, and a celebration of our scientific community 👏🔬👨💻👩💻
