It’s hard to explain how small the #picoaprs is! It obviously does APRS, but it also has 2m voice, Bluetooth for control over phone and computer, wifi firmware updates, AND it’s a rx iGate. They can be found in the US at @dxengineering instagr.am/p/CnIdpNMPi7q/

what do you think about my own creation of the "Jogger" icon for #APRS? This is what most radio amateurs use with handheld radios. I know it looks weird. But that's on purpose.😁

I try to not worry about the value as much as supporting people who are making software that is pushing the hobby forward, even if it's not my cup of tea. Some apps though, are totally worth it. @APRSdroid is one I happily paid for, even though it's available for free.

Even with your smartphone as a hotspot.
Maybe for field day, hiking, emergency and so on.

I fixed it! 470 nF on the earphone output of the iPhone, where the signal was loudest, stopped the oscillation. No visible change on the TX audio - scope shows L and R channels and the cap is only on one of them. #baofeng #aprs APRS-K1
If an iPad or an iPhone is attached to this Baofeng, a ~500kHz signal appears on all 3 audio lines (L R mic). Baofeng does not need to even be powered on. Does not happen with other radios. Feedback loop? #baofenggate

And yes, this worked already before, even between aprs.fi and APRSdroid! It was just bugging when messaging between iOS apps via the Internet side. Backend bug broke encoding.
A little bit of Unicode/UTF-8 interoperability testing with @APRSdroid completed! Emoticons work, not because I made any effort towards that end, but because I didn’t specifically break or remove them. #hamradio #aprs
