#ExtensionFriends, I "only" got to work on one digital sample in the Diagnostic Lab 🔬 today. Who wants to diagnose with me? This is a barley plant from northcentral Montana. The symptoms appeared two days ago, all the sudden, across vast areas of the field. Any guesses? 🕵️‍♀️

Isn't it pretty?! We've seen some PM on wheat leaves this spring, where the canopy is dense and moisture was received.

Powdery mildew on squash. PM causes a white powdery growth on leaves & stems. Fruit are not directly effected but growth may be stunted. Warm, dry periods w/t high relative humidity favor infection. Manage using resistant varieties, fungicides when severe, & sanitation #fungus

Lots has happened in Montana since the last time I tweeted here in January! For example, we almost have summer now. There are lots of samples coming in the Schutter Diagnostic Lab and we got a good amount of rain so I'm hoping for lots of diseases to admire! Be prepared 🤓
