Heartwarming reunion with my #Taiwan colleagues! Taiwan was very well represented by at least 30 plant pathologists from several institutions. Happy to see them enjoying the #PlantHealth2025 meeting in #Hawaii @plantdisease @APS_Tropical @APS_OIP @ippcnews @UFPlantPath

Wonderful pre-meeting field tour as part of the #PlantHealth2025 @plantdisease meeting in #Hawaii. Organized by the @APS_OIP. We learned how @APHIS and the state department of agriculture protect local crops by preventing #invasive species entering the islands. @ippcnews @APS_Tropical @USDA

Last stop before I start heading home 🏠. Visited the agricultural area in Kaohsiung. Learned about how their growers 🧑‍🌾association works, a very interesting way of growing papaya under screen-houses, visited guava plantings and tasted the #papaya, #mango, and #passionfruit cultivars developed by their 👨‍🔬 . Great way to close the month-length visit to #Taiwan @UFPlantPath @UFTropical @UF_IFAS @UF_IFAS_GFSI @APS_OIP @APS_Tropical @FPSFloridaPhyt1

Yesterday was #dragonfruit #pitaya #pitahaya day! We toured several farms, most of them very well managed. We still were able to find some pest and diseases 👇🏻 including snail 🐌 damage on fruit and wet rot disease. @UFPlantPath @UFTropical @FDACSDPI @APS_Tropical @APS_OIP @APS_PHC @ippcnews @USDA_NIFA @FDACS
