Our recent publication shows that 55-65°F is the optimal 5-day average soil temp range to apply fungicides for spring dead spot. My student ⁦@MikeB_Turf⁩ is further refining this by developing a cooling degree-day model that he’ll present next week ⁦@ASA_CSSA_SSSA

Symptoms of mini ring coming on strong in SC. Diving soil temps next week should slow down the pathogen big time.

There has been a lot of chatter in recent years about how snow mold fungicides are holding up during these wild winter swings. I summarize the latest research from @kurtaculous and I below:

Researchers conducted a new study at the O.J. Noer Turfgrass Research and Education Facility in Madison, Wis., to test winter rain’s impact on snow mold fungicides. See the results below. ⬇️ (Photo: Paul Koch) #SnowMold ❄️ heyor.ca/zIaDrE
