The Australian Systematic Botany Society's top gong (the Nancy T. Burbidge Medal) has been awarded to WA plant taxonomist extraordinaire Barbara Rye🙌 #WomenInSTEM
Congratulations to Dr Barbara Rye on receiving this top botanical honour in recognition of her significant contribution to Australasian systematic botany. Her taxonomic studies at #WAHerbarium have helped inform conservation efforts across Western Australia 👏

It is hard to wrap your head around the truly inspirational contribution Dr Barbara Rye has made to taxonomy & conservation in Australia throughout her illustrious career. We are all very grateful. Also happy to know we will still see her at #WAHerbarium even after retirement!
