Please complete this important survey for us. It will help inform policy around supporting providers to avoid closures. Many thanks!
Nursery professionals, please consider supporting this research below 👇 A research team at @UCLSocRes are conducting a study exploring the reasons for nursery closures. The research is being funded by the @jrf_uk and led by @ASimonUCL and Katie Hollingworth. They are inviting nursery professionals (currently or recently employed) aged 18 and over in England to complete an online survey. This survey will help them understand the reasons for nursery closures from the perspective of nursery professionals, and to find out about nursery professionals’ experiences and views of closures. The survey takes only 10 minutes and can be accessed via the following web link: qualtrics.ucl.ac.uk/jfe/form… Deadline: Sunday 6th October

Private equity devours children's care homes. Public purse pays £5,000 per child per week. 80% of homes run by corporations, profits not care is the aim. Low wages, debt, tax dodges, poor care are standard. Yet govt wants to hand NHS to corporations. thelondoneconomic.com/news/p…

This from new @NAOorguk paper is pretty damning. Poor 3 year olds are already behind their richer peers, but govt £ for these disadvantaged kids is dwarfed by support for older kids. And the childcare expansion actually helps richer families more...

European nations are making bold moves on child care, and not just tiny Nordic nations. Recently, Portugal began phasing in a universal system that will make care completely free for all families with children up to age three. socialeurope.eu/childcare-as…

It’s the first week of a new government which with it brings new opportunities for progress and collaboration - now is the time to make sure childcare is firmly on the agenda, not lost in the noise.
It’s vital that we keep early education on the agenda for the first 100 days of the new government. Help us by sharing this video👇

Single biggest reason is the commodification of children in care, which leads to profiteering by private companies running children’s homes and foster care agencies.

Read this excellent new investigation of private equity by @ehaspel which cites #childcare research I led @IOE_London @UCLSocRes discovery.ucl.ac.uk/id/eprin…

🚨 BREAKING: @ehaspel's investigation into private equity & shareholders' impact on #childcare is here. 🚨 An unprecedented degree of investor activity is creating a cascade of risks, threatening the path toward an inclusive child care system. bit.ly/3JuBWBt
