Governments, communities and industry all depend on census data to plan, invest and build for Alberta’s future. Don’t forget to fill out your 2026 census by May 12, so Albertans get their fair share of federal funding. alberta.ca/release.cfm?xID=9…

Premier Danielle Smith has set a clear mandate for Advanced Education: to deliver results that prepare Alberta students for success and ensure our workforce meets the needs of a growing province. We’ve already expanded mental health supports, created new pathways to train rural physicians, and modernized professional regulation through the Professional Governance Act. Looking ahead, I’m focused on accelerating credential recognition, elevating the skilled trades, and protecting academic freedom on our campuses. Together, we’re building an education system that keeps opportunity and prosperity here in Alberta. #Alberta #GettingTheJobDone #MeetingTheChallenge #AdvancedEducation

Today, September 22, we celebrate the incredible value apprenticeships bring to Alberta. Apprenticeship education allows students to learn while they earn, gaining hands-on skills under the guidance of experienced mentors while building strong careers in the trades. From high schools through the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) to our outstanding post-secondary institutions like NAIT, SAIT, Olds College, NWP and Northern Lakes College, Alberta is proud to offer pathways for students to explore, train, and succeed in more than 50 designated trades. 🛠 Apprentices are the backbone of Alberta’s economy — building our communities, powering our industries, and shaping our future. Today we say thank you to apprentices, journeypersons, employers, and instructors who keep our province moving forward.

Elliott building at @OldsCollege, as part of a three-year total investment of $63 million. This major investment will create more than 540 new trades seats at Olds College, while modernizing facilities and ensuring students have the best opportunities to succeed. Through Budget 2025, Alberta’s Government is meeting the challenge of a growing population by making targeted investments to grow skilled trades training and meet labour market demand.
