Last week, my wife accompanied a refugee to pick up her kids from school due to the grave fear they live under. I hope we can declare to our elected officials that refugees and those who are here with US approval and are amidst the official processes should not be targeted.
For Christians, who are adopted into the family of Abraham, let us remember our family story and the ethics that spring from that: “Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt." (Exod 23:9)
