Keir Starmer went from promising a “total crackdown on cronyism” to sending his anti-corruption champion on TV to argue it’s actually a good thing.
Margaret Hodge, who was given a peerage by Keir Starmer, says there's nothing wrong with cronyism. Hodge is currently the governments official anti corruption champion.

The Irish captain Doris employing a fabulous dive towards the officials. Jazz hands shaking in the air flamboyance rating a solid 9; setting an example for the team and the youth about how the game should be played, not as high.

The is the seldom-seen but no less spectacular ‘lower jazz hands’ that shake below the waist. This for a not straight line out throw.

Before these terrorist attacks against @Tesla I didn’t really see the danger of the woke-mind-virus @elonmusk was warning us about. Now it couldn’t be clearer. These people live in cognitive dissonance, they have a corrupted sense of right and wrong, and they will seek to attack violently innocent people, without provocation, because they perceive a danger. They disregard basic human rights, laws and moral, on the pure basis of their feelings of vulnerability. All their actions are based on emotion, since logic cannot justify or sustain them. They destroy peace and resist democratic change by labeling it non-democratic. Now I get it. Imagine this madness spread to 5, 50, 500, 1000 companies, people starting to defend themselves. You would have a civil war and the world would fall into chaos. These people represent the rise of western extremism. This is a danger unlike anything we’ve seen.

If you’re on the fence about getting a Tesla, GET ONE. I don’t say this because I like Elon, I say it because our Tesla is the best car we’ve ever had and it’s not close. Incredible cars and service couldn’t be easier. I used to resist the idea of an EV but Tesla won me over.

NEW: Astronaut says Elon Musk is “absolutely factual” after a WaPo reporter asked him about how Musk said his rescue efforts were denied for political reasons. Musk was condemned by the media for making the comment but it appears the astronauts agree. Reporter: “Elon Musk has said that he made the offer to bring you guys back earlier and that it was denied. My first question is, is that true?” Barry Wilmore: “I can only say that Mr. Musk, what he says is absolutely factual…” The astronauts were only supposed to be in space for 8 days. They have been there for 9 months. Musk had offered to retrieve them on his SpaceX capsule after the Boeing one started having problems. He was denied by the Biden admin. During his recent episode with Joe Rogan, Musk said the Biden admin denied his request for political reasons because they didn’t want to hurt Kamala’s campaign.

Every time I see the photo of those smug Germans mocking Trump for warning that their energy policy was a disaster waiting to happen, it’s like a painting where new details emerge. It belongs in a museum as a warning to future generations about the deadly cost of elite arrogance.

This is a crazy exchange. Does the media really think the holocaust was caused by free speech?
This is the first time I’ve heard the theory that the Holocaust wasn’t conducted with gas chambers but with free speech zones.

Thread: Rugby and Strictly We are at the end of probably the best ever World Cup, certainly the best ever knockout stage. Yet most of the discussion has either been about referees or people deciding there's no way casual fans can enjoy it. What can we learn from dancing? 1)

I had no money growing up. My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet. Men worked hard. Women worked miracles. But education was free. As was the local library. I knew books were my passport to a better life. Happy #WorldBookDay
