Looking at options for making a website. From visual hand-holding solutions (Wix, Webflow) down to actually build a website with some modern tools, e.g. GatsbyJS, TailWindCSS. Any recommendations? (I used to be a web dev and have some React Native and Node.js experience)

Just submitted a major update of my iOS microtonal tuning app for review. 14 beta testers, only one response which was positive... IME testers generally only respond when stuff is broken. So, here goes...

When your work performance and confidence depend on each other, very bad things happen when one starts to lag. The only way to fix this is to separate the two and recognize that your worth does not come from your work.

I won. Setting a capturing lambda callback from C , passed to Rust. Called from Rust. A couple hoops to jump through, much googling and WTFing but it works :) #rustlang #cpp

It involves wrapping the capturing lambda as a non-capturing lambda that can be converted to a function pointer. See stackoverflow.com/questions/…

Passing a "void* userdata" in a callback is apparently a common pattern in C APIs, which is also applicable to Rust given it looks like C to the outside world.
Why does Xcode wait for you to complete an upload to the App Store before telling something is wrong with the build? Usually some setting in Info.plist. Surely it could check these beforehand?

Stoked that my talk proposal for ADC'19 has been accepted! There were so many quality submissions this year. I'll be talking about a subject very close to my heart, that I've been working on for a while.

Apple has new machines, but they still use the T2 chip that has plagued audio users - and there's no complete fix for that available yet. Here's a look at how to cope: cdm.link/2019/05/apples-late…
