A must watch - "42" The sports drama 42 is an absolutely magnificent and deeply inspiring film. It tells the true story of Jackie Robinson the first African American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era. Beloved Black Panther Late Chadwick Boseman gives an unforgettable performance as Jackie. He perfectly captures the athlete’s incredible bravery and grace under pressure. Harrison Ford is also fantastic as Branch Rickey, the bold team manager who chose to sign Jackie to the Brooklyn Dodgers. ​When Jackie entered the league in the late 1940's, racial segregation the forced separation of people by race was heavily practiced in America. ​Jackie's journey to the top was unique because his greatest weapon was self control. Rickey explicitly told Jackie he needed a player with "the guts not to fight back." Opposing pitchers purposely threw baseballs at his head and runners tried to injure him with their sharp cleats. Crowds and even opposing managers shouted horrific racial slurs to break his spirit. Hotels refused to let him stay and some of his own teammates initially signed a petition refusing to play with him. ​Instead of shouting back or getting into physical fights Jackie let his immense talent do the talking. He endured the abuse with silent dignity, ran the bases with unmatched speed and won games with brilliant plays. ​By refusing to give up his teammates grew to respect him, the fans began to cheer for him, and he completely changed the sport forever. 42 is not just a movie about baseball. It is a powerful tribute to human courage and a beautiful reminder that dignity can defeat hatred. The movie is a must watch masterpiece that fills your heart with hope and respect. A must watch - "Safety" Safety (streaming on Disney ) is a deeply moving film based on a true story. It follows Ray McElrathbey, a young American football player at Clemson University. Just as he starts college, his life takes a massive turn. His mother goes to rehab, leaving his 11 year old brother Fahmarr, with nowhere to go.  ​To keep his brother out of foster care, Ray secretly brings him to live in his college dorm. What follows is a beautiful story of sacrifice. For Indians who grew up loving family dramas, this movie will hit home perfectly. It captures the true meaning of parivar (family) and community. ​While the film is technically a sports drama, the actual American Football takes a backseat. The real emotional core is the unbreakable bond between the two brothers. The acting is wonderfully natural, especially by the young actor playing Fahmarr, who steals every scene. ​It is a clean, inspiring, and emotional movie that you can watch with your entire family.
