THE RESULTS ARE IN! 🎉
First, be patient with me and read through this for all vendors to learn.
I reviewed more than 50 posts and settled for 28 business owners who participated in this patronage challenge.
Reading through the entries was both inspiring and educational.
What started as a simple review quickly turned into a fascinating sales and marketing case study.
Many people assumed this would be a competition about products.
It wasn’t.
It was a competition about persuasion.
It was about who could best convince a complete stranger to spend ₦100,000 with them.
To make the process fair, I reviewed all 28 shortlisted entries using the same criteria:
✅ Pain Point Clarity (25%)
How clearly did they identify a real problem?
✅ Storytelling Quality (25%)
Did they tell a story people could relate to?
✅ Emotional Connection (20%)
Did they make people feel something?
✅ Credibility & Proof (15%)
Did they demonstrate trust, results, or expertise?
✅ Call to Action (15%)
Did they give a compelling reason to buy now?
One thing became obvious very quickly.
Most businesses were selling products.
The strongest entries were selling solutions.
People do not buy wigs because they are 16 inches. People buy confidence.
People do not buy foodstuff. People buy peace of mind.
People do not buy sewing machines. People buy opportunity.
People do not buy kitchen appliances.
People buy convenience.
That distinction separated the leaders from the pack.
🎉 THIRD PLACE
@ezekieloluwada6
This entry stood out because it told a transformation story.
A young woman had a dream of becoming a fashion designer but lacked the right sewing machine.
The seller helped her get started.
Months later, she was making clothes for paying customers.
That is powerful because people don’t buy machines.
They buy possibilities.
🥈 SECOND PLACE
@a_bukolaa
This was one of the most relatable entries in the competition.
The opening immediately grabbed attention:
“Ah ah… so na this small gas wey remain go finish today?”
Almost every Nigerian household understands that feeling. 😂
The seller did not start by pitching a charcoal stove.
Instead, they highlighted a daily frustration and then presented a practical solution.
That is effective marketing.
🏆 WINNER
@creative_adufe
congratulations 🎉 🎉
This entry was the most complete sales pitch in the competition.
The opening line alone deserves recognition:
“Most people don’t wake up craving yogurt. They wake up tired.”
Immediately, the focus shifted away from yogurt and onto a real human problem.
The seller then painted a picture of busy people skipping breakfast, rushing to work, relying on snacks and soft drinks, and feeling drained before noon.
Then came the key line:
“We’re not really selling food. We’re helping people make better choices.”
That is the moment the pitch moved from selling products to selling transformation.
The entry combined:
✔ Problem awareness
✔ Storytelling
✔ Emotional connection
✔ Mission
✔ Purpose
✔ Business impact
Better than any other submission.
That is why
@creative_adufe is my winner. Congratulations again!
SPECIAL MENTIONS 👏
@bigjimmy417
Excellent positioning of gifts as practical solutions instead of decorative items.
@ugyofficial
Strong understanding of identity-based marketing and personal styling.
@omoladeaminat2
Simple but effective problem-solution framework around breakfast convenience.
@eaglesfeastvent
Good focus on affordability and helping families navigate rising food costs.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Never underestimate the power of storytelling.
Most customers do not remember product specifications. They remember how you made them feel.
The businesses that grow fastest are usually not the ones with the best products. They are the ones that explain value the best.
Congratulations to all participants.
And remember:
Features tell.
Benefits sell.
Stories win. 🚀

I want to patronise a vendor. Please read the tweet I quoted below for some information.
Comment or quote this tweet with what you sell, or the service you provide, by marketing your product the best way you can.
The winner of this game will get 100k patronage. The aim is to promote marketing strategy among vendors and service providers. It is not about the money, but the knowledge you will benefit from it. You will see who won, why the vendor or service providers won, and how you can improve your marketing strategy.
There will be an independent judge, not me, but I will pay the 100k. I won’t announce who the judge will be until later today. This is to prevent any ojoro or mangomango. I have not selected who will judge it, and no one has been appointed. I will choose who will choose the winner.
It’s good to benchmark to see what others are doing better and where you can improve. I hope this helps.
You can now quote or comment on this tweet if you’re interested to participate. Only entries on this tweet are valid. Other tweets are not considered.
All the best🤝
