Wrapped the Buja LN Bootcamp 🇧🇮 and I’m genuinely proud. Bitcoin fundamentals → real LN builds → pitching working projects. From “questions” to “ideas shipped” : that’s why we do this. Respect to @heyolaniran, and to the team behind the scenes @_Satoshee & @Ladyyyy_lo .
Our Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Bujumbura, Burundi 🇧🇮 is officially a wrap and what an incredible week it has been. Over five days, participants journeyed from Bitcoin fundamentals, the history of money, cryptographic signatures, transactions, and the blockchain, all the way to building and testing real projects on the Lightning Network. Today, they pitched those projects to the room. Watching developers who started the week with questions end it with working ideas is exactly why we run these bootcamps. A huge shoutout to our instructors, @heyolaniran and @advaxeir. You didn’t just teach, you inspired. The depth, clarity, and energy you brought to every session shaped the entire experience. Thank you both. To our executing team, @_Satoshee and @Ladyyyy_lo, thank you for the countless behind the scenes efforts that made this bootcamp possible. These events only succeed because of people like you. A special thank you to @belyi_nobel, @Barakana_GE, and the @bitdevsgtga team for inviting us to Burundi, welcoming us so warmly, and supporting the local ground planning. Your community’s passion for Bitcoin education is truly inspiring, and this definitely won’t be our last time here. And to our sponsors and partners who continue to make this mission possible, @btrustteam, @HRF, @Tether_Africa, @afribitcoiners, @planb_network, and @freetechite, thank you. Your support is what transforms an idea into five days of hands on Bitcoin education across Africa. The Lightning Network is growing across this continent. One city, one bootcamp, one developer at a time. Next stop: Kisumu, Kenya 🇰🇪

It's amazing to see months of planning and strategizing come to life this way. This year our goal was to take Bootcamps to cities with zero to little Bitcoin activity, and I am grateful we did! Thanks to @HRF, @btrust_builders and @Tether_Africa for their continuous support.
✅ Day 1 of our Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Kisumu, Kenya. What an incredible start! We welcomed a record breaking 90 participants, making this one of the largest bootcamps we've hosted to date. As always, we started with the fundamentals, exploring the history and properties of money, the problems Bitcoin solves, and why it matters. Participants then got hands on experience interacting with their own Bitcoin Core nodes, taking their first steps toward becoming Bitcoin and Lightning developers. Special shoutout to @dzeg5 for leading an engaging and insightful first day. A huge thank you to @Zone01Kisumu for hosting us and helping make this possible. And of course, thank you to our sponsors, @btrustteam, @HRF, @Tether_Africa, @afribitcoiners, and @planb_network for supporting the next generation of Bitcoin builders across Africa. 🚀

Day 2 of our Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Kisumu, Kenya. We kicked off the day by reviewing the homework assignments and answering questions from participants before diving deeper into Bitcoin's technical foundations. Today's sessions covered transactions, UTXOs, the blockchain, block rewards, block size, and how Bitcoin's architecture enables a decentralized monetary system. The highlight of the day was getting hands on. Participants wrote scripts that connected directly to their Bitcoin Core nodes, executed commands, and interacted with the Bitcoin network programmatically. Seeing developers move from theory to practice is always exciting. A big shoutout to @dzeg5 for another engaging and practical day of instruction. Today we go into the Lightning Network. @btrustteam @HRF @Tether_Africa @afribitcoiners @planb_network

This wasn't a competition. It was proof: the next wave of Bitcoin builders is in Africa. They're not waiting for permission. They're coding P2P tools right now, no KYC, no gatekeepers.

Huge thanks to all participants, mentors, and @vexl with @bitdevsgtga for backing this vision. The road is long, but these 48 hours showed exactly why we build. If you believe Africa should build its own financial tools - not borrow them — retweet this.
