In yesterday’s hearing for Dr. Kizza Besigye, the prosecution arrived nearly two hours late, yet again causing delays in a case that has seen nothing but prosecution-driven delays from the start. Dr. Kizza and his co-accused were already in the dock waiting. The defense asked the court to dismiss the application given the prosecutor's absence, but another date was given instead. The prosecution has failed to meet its own disclosure deadlines and is now asking the court to hide the identities of six key witnesses from the defence. Why delay the course of justice? We will keep asking that question, in that courtroom, outside it and everywhere it needs to be heard. #FreeKizza
Today I was in Kampala for Dr. Kizza Besigye's case scheduling. The prosecution has failed to fully disclose its evidence in total disobedience of a court order to do so. Instead, on the 11th of March 2026, they filed an application seeking permission to conceal the identity of one of their six witnesses and the court, in the absence of the defence, proceeded to fix this application for hearing today. We as the defence protested this preferential treatment of the prosecution. The court failed to account for the defence's right to peruse the application and to respond to it adequately. This is not a procedural technicality, it is a matter of fundamental fairness. An accused person must know the case against him and who his accuser is in order to prepare his defence. That is a right. We return to court on the 31st of March. Dr. Besigye is 69 years old and has been in remand for over 500 days, a period that has greatly compromised his health. The prosecution's unwarranted delays are punitive. And they will not go unchallenged. Aluta Continua. #FreeBesigye

President William Ruto has the right of reply. Rigathi Gachagua body shamed and ridiculed Ruto and Ruto replied. Decorum begets decorum. An eye for an eye. Has The Standard placed a photo of Gachagua quoting all the insults and claims that Gachagua has directed at Ruto since he was impeached? The truth is stubborn and the truth is Rigathi Gachagua was drunk with power during his short time in office. Rigathi Gachagua was also behaving as if he was the Deputy President for Kikuyu development and not Kenya's development as a whole. History is stubborn. Achaneni na Rais aongee imtoke pia. Ukiita mwanaume mbwa akuite mbwa shida iko wapi? Hakuna. Unpresidential my foot! ⚖️

*Did you know that the P3 Form is the most critical piece of medical evidence for accidents assault and sexual offence cases in Kenya?* This essential document is available free of charge at any police station or can be downloaded directly from the National Police Service website. To ensure its legal validity, the process is split into two stages 1.Must be completed by a police officer. 2.Must be filled by a qualified medical expert. By documenting injuries through the P3 Form, you ensure that vital evidence is preserved and that justice can be served in cases of bodily harm.
