On the 18th of November, AICRI briefed the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, highlighting how cross-border collaboration is strengthening the future of cancer research and care across the island of Ireland. AICRI Co-lead Prof. William Gallagher delivered the opening statement, alongside Prof. Owen Patrick Smith, Prof. @gerryhanna , patient advocate @SiobhanGaynor  and Ciaran Briscoe. The group who demonstrated that all-island collaboration in precision oncology, childhood cancer genomics, survivorship, clinical trials and digital health is already having impact, yet the message was clear: there is still much to be done!

These individuals often face poorer cancer outcomes, reflecting barriers in access, delayed diagnosis, and limited integration between mental health and oncology care.
