✨Ever wish you could see years of @UNICEF evaluation evidence… in one snapshot? That is an #Evaluation Synthesis — a fast, rigorous way to connect the dots across dozens of evaluations. It shows the big picture: trends, patterns, lessons, and what works (and what doesn’t) for children. Think: static, single report → living overview. Smarter insights. Stronger programmes. Faster decisions. ➡️Check out @UNICEFEval’s latest video on what an #evaluation synthesis is below. 👇 youtu.be/pstNbUvx9hw

🌍 Introducing the Youth Advisory Group 2025–2026! The Institutional Effectiveness Team of @UNICEFEval is thrilled to announce a new Youth Advisory Group (YAG) for 2025–2026! This incredible cohort will bring youth-led insights to our upcoming global evaluation evidence synthesis REFLECT – Review of Evidence for Learning and Effectiveness to Transform #ForEveryChild report, ensuring young voices shape and guide the evaluation process. Given that this will be our third cohort, we knew it was time to raise the bar and broaden the scope. We wanted to establish a wider roster —not just for one specific evaluation, but to ensure that the YAG has the opportunity to engage in more evaluations across the UNICEF Evaluation Office — moving from representation to active participation in decision-making. We are truly grateful for the volume of applicants who applied — we were inspired by the passion and ideas shared globally. To those selected: welcome aboard! We cannot wait to work with you. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting journey together. #YouthEngagement #UNICEF #Evaluation #REFLECT #ForEveryChild #Synthesis #YouthPerspectives

🌍 How Evidence Shapes Brighter Futures for Children. Meet Alima. She’s eight years old and lives in a community where clean water, school meals, and small cash grants make a big difference. Her story reflects millions of children whose lives depend on programmes designed to help them thrive. But how do we know what works? @UNICEFEval analyzed 600 #UNICEF-led evaluations (2018–2022) to find out. The Global Evaluation Evidence Synthesis & Evidence Gap Map connects the dots across five key areas: ✅ Health & Nutrition: Community outreach and health education save lives. We need stronger systems and better data to reach remote families. ✅ Education: Cash transfers keep children in school. Teacher training boosts learning, especially for girls. Next step? Track learning outcomes and expand digital access. ✅ Child Protection: Safe spaces and awareness campaigns reduce risks. Sustained progress requires reliable data and consistent follow-up. ✅ Water & Sanitation: Community-led efforts empower families. Long-term solutions and inclusive planning are critical for lasting change. ✅ Social Protection: Partnerships and public finance reforms strengthen safety nets. More training and inclusive planning will ensure no child is left behind. What’s next? To make real progress, we must: 🔹 Put children’s voices at the center 🔹 Foster cross-sector collaboration 🔹 Design for long-term impact not quick fixes 🔹 Strengthen data systems and transparency and 🔹 Encourage innovation and learning. Behind every statistic is a child, like Alima—with a name, a story, and a future. Evaluation evidence is not just about measuring progress, it is about guiding it. 👉 Learn more about how @UNICEF uses #evaluation evidence to shape better outcomes for children: youtu.be/NvMzC52ei-k 👈 #ForEveryChild #EvidenceMatters #ImpactForChildren #WorldChildrensDay

🌍 One Year Since Bogotá: Renewing Our Commitment to End Violence Against Children This week we celebrate the 1st anniversary of the Bogotá Conference to End Violence Against Children. The challenge remains urgent: over 1 billion children experience violence each year. This is not just a statistic; it’s a collective failure to protect the most vulnerable. Now more than ever, evidence matters. We must use what works — proven strategies and data-driven solutions — to guide testing, adaptation, and scaling. Every child deserves safety, dignity, and the chance to reach their full potential. Let’s turn commitments into action. Together, we can end violence against children. 🔗 Learn more: • Bogotá Conference: endviolenceagainstchildrenco… 👈 • The Lancet A crucial juncture for evidence-based action to end violence against children: Read here 👇 thelancet.com/journals/lanch… • The Lancet Interventions to prevent, reduce, and respond to violence against children and adolescents: a systematic review of systematic reviews to update the INSPIRE Framework: Read here 👇 thelancet.com/journals/lanch… #EndViolence #BogotáAnniversary #ChildProtection #EvidenceForChange

How can we strengthen programming to address both collective and interpersonal violence in fragile settings? This question was at the heart of the opening keynote by @amberpeterman, Evaluation Specialist, UNICEF at the #FragileLives conference last month in Berlin, hosted by the International Security and Development Center (ISDC) @ISDCBerlin . Representing UNICEF Evaluation, Amber shared insights into the dual burden of violence faced by children and families across the globe, and how integrated approaches across sectors can create synergies to reduce harm. UNICEF was also represented by @UNICEFEgypt 's Natalia Winder Rossi who joined a policy panel on empowering women and girls, highlighting the importance of generating evidence with and for girls to inform transformative policy. A heartfelt thank you to Amber and Natalia for their thoughtful contributions and for representing #UNICEF so powerfully. Check out the program & all presentations here: lnkd.in/eMK6HawX We look forward to engaging further on evidence, innovation and policy discussions with & for children in settings of fragility across the globe 🙏🏽
