SEO in 2024 isn't just about *can* you rank – it's about *should* you rank. We've developed a "product/search intent fit" analysis to tackle this head-on. Think product/market fit, but for organic search. This tool helps us: * Understand what searchers truly want * Assess how well your product aligns * Make strategic decisions on content creation No more chasing vanity keywords or creating content that drives empty traffic. Every piece of content should serve both searchers and your business goals. Are you still creating content hoping it'll convert, or are you strategically aligning with search intent?

SEO is a long-term game, but if you do it right, it could really pay off. Working with @AlexDenning and the @getellipsis team on @wprssaggregator's revival has shown exactly that. Now for the product improvements... 👀
Excited to share a recent Ellipsis success story from our work with @wprssaggregator, working with @GabyAbela, @markzahra, and team 🚀 * 125% increase in clicks to their site * Optimized existing content, breathing new life into their blog * By June 2024, our work drove ~40% of their site traffic This was achieved through a combination of our Content Growth service and CMO as a Service offering. We collaborated closely with the Aggregator team on rebranding, CRO, pricing strategy, and .org visibility. Key takeaway: Effective SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency and patience pay off. Check out the full case study to see how we can help drive sustainable growth with SEO Content: getellipsis.com/case-study/a…

I tried to buy a new phone recently, and I got lost in pages of affiliate spam. I gave up, looked for a dinner recipe instead, and got lost in stories of how the author found the recipe from a passerby on a mountain pass. In a genAI era, it is more important than ever to ask hard questions about the content we're creating, to ensure it is useful. If it is not useful, it will get competed-out by AI. getellipsis.com/blog/avoid-g…

SEO will change more and faster in the coming years than it has ever before. What questions should you ask to avoid getting screwed by AI?

In the next 12-24 months, Google will roll out AI-powered featured snippets for most searches. This is a generational change in how we find information. Will your business be ready, or will it still be searching for answers? getellipsis.com/blog/generat…

The dilemma, challenge, and opportuity of "optimizing for no optimization" is precisely what I talked about in Searching for Answers on Monday getellipsis.com/blog/the-uns…
Looking at niche travel sites... I think it is fair to say that recent updates have been brutal for many of these sites, but there are some interesting examples of small travel blogs that didn't get hit by the HCU, like the brown, yellow and (maybe) blue sites below. What these sites seem to be doing: - they've been travel blogging for a really long time - the blue and brown sites in particular do an exceptional job writing first-hand experiences, and only sharing highly opinionated pieces about places they have been, with original photography - there is no mystery about who these bloggers are, they are well known in the space and have a big following - these sites appear to be much less "SEO-forward" and use less overly optimized titles, headlines, etc. than some of the travel blogs that were hit

Back to work properly today! We had an awesome 9 days in Taipei and Okinawa (plus layover in Tokyo) after WordCamp Asia. Highlight was definitely exploring Taipei's night food markets properly – first pic is a long exposure of the Michelin-recommended pepper pork bun stand 🇹🇼🇯🇵

Quick layover in Tokyo on my way to WC Asia. I stood in the rain for 30 mins last night to get this photo, worth it 💯 Next stop, Taipei! #WCAsia

In Searching for Answers this week @getellipsis, I cover OpenAI's new Sora model, the most impressive text to video we've ever seen. 🎥 This moves the goalposts on trust 📊 Will this accelerate the trend towards E-E-A-T? 🚀 Why we should cut the fluff getellipsis.com/blog/sora-ai…
