Dolan is clearly trying to get ahead of this, but thought Knicks basketball fans should understand the difference between the apron and the luxury tax
The second apron is not the luxury tax. Related, but different The second apron severely prohibits roster flexibility The tax charges teams for going over the cap. It gets crazy > 200M - every $ past 200M is multiplied by 3, so Mitch, shams, mo @ $30M / year is $90M.

Kind of hate the Knicks bench player playoff narrative right now. Everyone talking about Spurs late game drop off vs Knicks is missing how absolutely critical it was for us to crush and sweep sixers cavs crush the hawks in the last three. Our bench sucked in the finals, but was HUGE for us in those series. which meant our starters played probably the fewest minutes of any finals team coming into the finals (don't have the data but I bet it's close). How many 4th quarters did our starters not even play? Shamet, Deuce, Alvarado, Clarkson, Robinson we're all critical in those bow outs (especially deuce and shamet). Which lead to rested starters, and a finals win where the other team looked (rightfully) gassed

I've been watching the NBA too much. I just said this to Codex, who is using Claude as an adverserial review.

wild how chatgpt's / claude's legal advice is causing legal headaches for a lot of owners / operators we work with. might build a product that runs certain scenarios through chatgpt and claude to see what it will tell residents and help landlords understand what's going on.

I love this team.
Karl-Anthony Towns: “We enjoyed the shell shock of what happened — but we understood the next morning we had to get back to work. “In that moment of jubilation, we had to talk about — the elephant in the room was we didn’t play well at all.”

The Spurs know how to TAKE the lead, they just don't know how to HOLD the lead. And that's really the most important part of the lead: the holding

common mistake in AI analysis - that last 10% in capability is not only meaningful, but game-changing. Imagine an agent looping for hours at a 15% error rate versus a 5% error - the potential for compounding errors is massive and gets worse over time.
So you can use the 5th/6th/7th best LLMs, getting 80-85% of the top guys' performance, but at an 85-95% discount in price? You know what we call that? A commodity... exactly what happened with LCD TVs, OLEDs, solar panels, electric cars, phones, etc good luck with your AI IPOs!

I want to tweet something vitriolic and spiteful towards the nba for the wemby ruling. But the only response is to absolutely crush the spurs tonight in the garden.

The unsung hero of this game are the 7 minutes played by bridges, Alvarado, Robinson, deuce and shamet from the end of the 3rd through the fourth

respect
Victor Wembanyama’s agent, Jeremy Medjana, says he was turning down marketing deals in the millions from beverage companies before he even made it to the NBA: “We’re not gonna mix his image with sodas like Coca-Cola. They all want him, but Victor will never sell soda. Because he doesn’t want to kill the kids.” That’s my responsible GOAT 🥹 #GoSpursGo #PorVida

Despite some bogus grants, a lot of government is like this cartoon. I bet this "small team" would find a line item for "screwworm sterilization" and delete it, not knowing that they just devastated American farming: theatlantic.com/science/arch…
