Good discussion with Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut in Sofia. We explored ways to strengthen Republic of Moldova-Serbia cooperation, boost trade and advance projects of mutual interest. We also exchanged views on regional security and our European paths. Strong partnerships and practical cooperation deliver real benefits for our citizens and businesses.

At the SEECP Summit in Sofia, I reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment to a united, secure and prosperous Europe. Regional cooperation, stronger connectivity, energy security and resilience are essential in today’s challenging environment. Pleased to meet with Prime Minister Rumen Radev in Sofia for a friendly and productive discussion on our bilateral agenda, regional security and Moldova’s EU accession process. Hundreds of drones. Dozens of missiles. Civilians killed. Children injured. Homes and hospitals damaged. I unequivocally condemn Russia’s latest massive attack against Ukraine. There can be no justification for strikes that kill civilians and target residential areas and critical civilian infrastructure. The Republic of Moldova stands with Ukraine. Civilian lives are not collateral damage. Those responsible for these attacks must be held accountable.

It was a pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Ilie @Bolojan to Chișinău today. Romania is the Republic of Moldova’s closest partner and a trusted friend. We discussed our shared priorities: energy interconnections, infrastructure, investment, resilience, and Moldova’s path to the European Union. At a time of growing security challenges, Republic of Moldova and Romania will continue working together for a safer, stronger, and more European future. I thank Romania for its steadfast support, for the solidarity it has shown in difficult times, and for the genuine friendship that connects people on both sides of the Prut River.

We condemn in the strongest terms the reckless actions that led to a russian drone hitting a residential building in Galați. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we stand in solidarity with Romania. This incident, only a short distance from the border of the Republic of Moldova, is a stark reminder that the risks created by Russia’s war are real and remain dangerously close to our region. We will continue strengthening our resilience and working closely with our European partners to safeguard peace, security, and stability.

The Republic of Moldova is not alone. We have trusted partners and friends we can rely on. Today, I had a meeting with Slovakia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Robert Kaliňák, alongside other officials. We discussed strengthening cooperation between our countries in the fields of defence and security. We appreciate Slovakia’s support for the Republic of Moldova’s European path and our joint commitment to strengthening regional security and stability.

I strongly condemn Russia’s massive attacks against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, which killed and injured civilians. Deliberate strikes on residential areas and civilian infrastructure are acts of terror that cannot be justified. The Republic of Moldova stands firmly with Ukraine and with all those defending human life, freedom and peace against aggression. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the Ukrainian people.
