ALT PhD in Pandemic Planning (Mathematical Epidemiology, Public Health or Behavioural Science)
About the Project
The Institute for Global Pandemic Planning (IGPP) at the University of Warwick combines world-class expertise in Mathematical Epidemiology, Public Health and Behavioural Science. Through the Institute, a pipeline of doctoral students is being created to expand worldwide scientific leadership on managing pandemics. We are now recruiting our fourth cohort of students to start on an exciting four-year funded PhD programme in October 2024.
The programme will include participation in relevant post-graduate taught courses during the first year, followed by full time research on a chosen project. Each student will have supervision from academics in at least two of the main disciplines of the Institute, with supervisors selected from the Warwick Medical School, Warwick Business School, or the Department of Mathematics.
ALT Funding
Studentships covering an annual stipend, full fees, a Research and Training Support Grant, and laboratory consumables if applicable, are available. Please note that this does not include the cost of visa applications, travel expenses or health surcharge for international applicants.
Entry Requirements
A strong first degree (2.1 or above), or international equivalent, in a relevant subject, evidence of English language capability, and two strong academic references. Further information on Warwick University’s entrance requirements can be found here.
