And all prior to his disastrous tenure in No. 10. I’d like to say I can’t believe this is happening, but the noise of rock bottoms being smashed through is becoming the soundtrack of things…

I have been asked on here if I have ever looked at the benefits of freeports. The honest answer is no, but that is because I have never been able to find any such benefits. I have, however, looked at the massive downsides to this idea that both Sunak and Truss support. A thread..

I didn't even know this Measurements consultation was taking place. (No option for metric only!) It must be one of the People’s Priorities. 🙄 Don’t let Mogg get away with a return to imperial measurements by default. Tell them no. It closes on the 26th. beisgovuk.citizenspace.com/o…

The minimum UKRI PhD stipend is £16,062 for 2022/23. Although PhDs are training and do not legally require minimum wage, a comparison is worthwhile: National minimum wage (age 21-23) is £19,094 (40h/week). After tax that's £16,836. Living wage is £19,760 (£17,280 after tax).

MILK TIME 🥛! Have you ever considered that it’s a bit weird that you drink the milk of another animal, and it’s totally normal? Milk is a billion-dollar industry. A *HUGE* new human evolution paper just dropped, upending one of the great modern evolutionary ideas. 🧵 1/n
