I love that the leads of the OG Potter films have held the line so firmly, while many of their elder co-stars have hedged, deflected, shrugged it off, or outright agreed with her.
Daniel Radcliffe says that J.K. Rowling's transphobic comments left him deeply saddened: “It makes me really sad, ultimately. Because I do look at the person that I met, the times that we met, and the books that she wrote, and the world that she created, and all of that is to me so deeply empathic.” He confirmed that he has not had any contact with Rowling since she began making the comments and added that he would “continue to support the rights of all LGBTQ people”. “Jo, obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person. But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life.” “Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I.”

centuries of women before me have yearned to taste the freedom i get to experience nowadays by being able to say no to marriage/children and choose my own path with full agency, and i will never take that for granted. they live through me
This was a depressingly common theme in 19th-century art.

If you taxed every Billionaire in the UK so they only had £1bn you would get £1.1tn, an entire year’s worth of tax revenue. It would affect only 173 People. Tax the Rich, they’ve stolen all the money and dodged tax for decades. It‘s time for payback.

When New York State banned phones in public schools from bell to bell this past September, the goal was undistracted learning. But within weeks of the Great Phone Lockup, teachers began to notice an incidental (and arguably even more compelling) benefit: The teens were talking to one another as if they were in a Brat Pack movie. Sure, there’s been grumbling and some burner phones and scrolling in the bathroom. But generally, with phones off-limits, the atmosphere feels different. There’s a pleasant buzz in the lunchroom, chatter in the hallways, and an alphabet of new analog hobbies popping up just about everywhere. “We’ve had a lot more school spirit,” said one senior at a charter school in Harlem. “People are more willing to do stuff.” What stuff are they doing? At many schools, teachers have made cards, board games, and sports equipment available during free time, and the kids have deigned to use them. Aidan Amin, a ninth-grader at Hunter College High School, is in a friend group that congregates in the school foyer to stack ‘OK Play’ tiles and compete at ‘Sorry!’ and other tabletop games during lunch. “I’d say it’s made us closer. Honestly, half the people I’m playing board games with I didn’t know at all before this,” Aidan says. I despise the British far-right. Not just on an ideological level either but for the fact that they comprise largely of nasty bullies. They abuse people, not only people of different skin colour, but anyone who doesn't agree with their hate driven agenda. These guys don't care about British people. They are just vile thugs and anarchists who want to burn down society and rule over its ashes.
Flag sha*ging patriots are now bullying and intimidating elderly residents who don’t want Union Jacks raised outside their houses.

“The rape didn’t last long enough” There is not enough anger in the world to account for how little sexual violence against women just doesn’t matter in society.
A Swedish court has ruled that the Eritrean migrant who raped 16-year-old Meya Åberg won’t be deported because the rape didn’t last long enough. The rape took place on September 1st last year when Meya missed her bus and was walking through a pedestrian tunnel after finishing her shift at McDonald’s. Meya and her family immediately reported it to the police. The 18-year-old Eritrean migrant, named Yazied Mohamed, was sentenced to 3 years in prison for rape. Mohamed is a citizen of Eritrea, and the prosecutor sought his deportation. However, the Court of Appeal noted that the man has refugee status. Under Swedish law, deporting a refugee requires that the crime committed constitutes an “exceptionally serious offense” and that allowing them to remain in Sweden would pose a “serious threat to public order and safety.” The rape of 16-year-old Meya was not deemed serious enough to justify deportation, with the Court of Appeal citing, among other factors, the “duration” of the rape in its assessment. “Rape is, in many cases, considered an exceptionally serious offense that could lead to the deportation of a refugee, but an assessment must be made based on all circumstances in the individual case. Given the nature and duration of the offense in question, the Court of Appeal finds that while the crime is serious, it does not constitute an exceptionally serious offense that would warrant a deportation order for Yazied Mohamed. The request for deportation is therefore rejected,” the Court of Appeal for Upper Norrland wrote in its ruling.

Kim Kardashian admits her ELLE photoshoot inspired by ‘The Graduate’ with then-16-year-old Justin Bieber was inappropriate: “I don’t know who approved this, and I don’t know who thought this was normal… But I did a photoshoot with Justin Bieber. He was 16 years old. His girlfriend was there, his parents [were there], I mean, it was nothing creepy at all. But I look back and I’m like… Who thought that that was a good idea?”

If you genuinely think disabled people, those on benefits and immigrants are the root of all your problems and you go after them and not after the people at this obscene display of wealth then there is no helping you. Poor people didn't make you poor.

BREAKING: MAGA world flies into panic mode as the grandmother of Charlie Kirk's suspected assassin Tyler Robinson reveals that his entire family is hardcore MAGA. The Republican narrative has collapsed in record time... “My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump. Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat," the suspect's grandmother Debbie Robinson told The Daily Mail. “I’m just so confused. [Tyler] is the shyest person. He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all," she added. The Daily Beast reported that both of Robinson's parents are registered Republicans who hold hunting licenses. They appear to be run-of-the-mill conservative gun nuts. In the immediate aftermath of Kirk's assassinations, Republicans rushed to blame Democrats. Donald Trump pointed a finger at the "radical left" and MAGA influencers, including Donald Trump Jr., gleefully embraced the false narrative that the shooter was transgender. We now know that the alleged shooter was a 22-year-old white Mormon man from Utah. It seems increasingly likely that he was a far-right supporter of the white nationalist Nick Fuentes. The engravings on the bullets found appear to be references to memes popular within Fuentes's "groyper" movement. Groypers despised Charlie Kirk because he wasn't right-wing enough for their taste and they believe that he sold out the "America First" movement. One bullet was engraved with the phrase “Hey fascist! Catch!" but it does not appear to be a left-wing "antifa" message as Republicans originally claimed. Instead, it seems to be a reference to a satirical slogan in the popular video game Helldivers 2. Video games are a crucial cornerstone of the bizarre groyper worldview, along with misogyny and racism. In the coming days we will no doubt learn more about this twisted shooter and his hateful beliefs but we cannot allow Republicans to slink away without taking responsibility for their lies. Yesterday, they were promising now civil war. Now that it appears the shooter was one of their own, they want to move on. We must hold them accountable. The shooter is not transgender, is not a Democrat, and is not an immigrant. He's an unstable homegrown white man with access to firearms. America's gun violence problem is a Republican problem.
