AB 2005 would eliminate the owner-occupancy requirement that has made it so needlessly difficult to use SB 9 to undertake a lot split and create a homeownership unit. It passed today out of Senate Local Government. I was proud to testify in support for @cayimby.

HAC and the City of Lafayette have reached a settlement in our housing element lawsuit. Lafayette has agreed to consider upzoning 130 acres near downtown & the BART station, & will pay $120K in attorney's fees. More homes near transit in a high-resource community — that's what Bay Area housing justice looks like 🥳
