This is June she has been teaching adults to swim for many years at Kingswood school in Bath, often covering the pool rental cost herself at quiet times. She’s a gem doing an amazing job. I popped in just to say hi to her two classes tonight & drop some tips 👍🏾💦🏊🏻🏊♂️🏊♀️

Bridgerton has done consent really well this season. Initially I was really irritated by Colin’s: “This may hurt. I cannot help it I promise. But it should only be this first time” because it felt like it reinforcing idea that first time sex for a female is likely to hurt.

There is a section in screwball too that can help. Boy: it’s supposed to hurt for girls isn’t it? Girl: why do you think I would be here if it’s supposed to hurt! m.youtube.com/watch?v=OC7xv3… so it’s important to unpick notions about first sex with young people “cherry popping” etc.

Evidence shows when YP have high quality sex Ed that helps them unpack this stuff they are more likely to have sex at a later age and for that sex to be consensual. Knowledge is power. We have to get this right for the next generation and the current draft RSHE must not get in.
