New Year’s Eve Message from Dogs on the Streets
As everyone prepares for a night of celebrations with friends, family, and well-deserved drinks, here at Dogs on the Streets we’re getting ready for freezing temperatures, potential emergencies, and intakes from our vulnerable community in need.
This New Year’s Eve, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout 2024. Your kindness and generosity have been the backbone of our efforts to help those in need—both people and their beloved dogs.
There are too many companies and individuals to name who have donated, supported, and helped us, but please know that every single one of you is in our hearts. Your contributions have made a world of difference.
While we wish we could step into 2025 with fewer people needing our help, we know the reality is different. Cases continue to rise, and the demand for our support grows each week. Despite the challenges, we remain committed to providing assistance to every referral we receive, never turning people away or putting them on long waiting lists.
2024 brought us many lows, but also some wonderful highs—stories of hope and recovery that remind us why we do what we do. I am incredibly grateful for our amazing team of volunteers who pour their hearts into this work every day.
We may be a small team, but our determination and compassion are boundless.
Looking ahead, we hope for a resolution in January regarding the £50,000 bill from our energy provider, a mistake by them that could threaten our operations. We’re deeply grateful to Octopus Energy for stepping in to support us, both through their fantastic calendar (proceeds of which will be donated to the charity) and behind the scenes in our case with the ombudsman.
We also want to take a moment to thank the smaller companies who have stepped forward to help us—your support has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, we’re committed to shining a brighter spotlight on your contributions.
Lastly, thank you to every supporter, donor, and follower who has stood by us this year. We’re a small, resourceful charity with no fancy PR teams or social media experts—just one or two people working tirelessly volunteering behind the scenes.
We wish you all a healthy and happy 2025. Thank you for continuing to stand with us as we move forward into another year of helping those in need.
With gratitude,
Michelle & The Dogs on the Streets Team 🧡🥳🥂
