Last year, I resigned from Oxford Union's committee after being called "council estate Chloe" I regret not fighting the classism I experienced so I ran for committee and yesterday, I was elected once again I'll always be proud of where I'm from and to be "council estate Chloe"

New Year’s Eve Message from Dogs on the Streets As everyone prepares for a night of celebrations with friends, family, and well-deserved drinks, here at Dogs on the Streets we’re getting ready for freezing temperatures, potential emergencies, and intakes from our vulnerable community in need. This New Year’s Eve, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout 2024. Your kindness and generosity have been the backbone of our efforts to help those in need—both people and their beloved dogs. There are too many companies and individuals to name who have donated, supported, and helped us, but please know that every single one of you is in our hearts. Your contributions have made a world of difference. While we wish we could step into 2025 with fewer people needing our help, we know the reality is different. Cases continue to rise, and the demand for our support grows each week. Despite the challenges, we remain committed to providing assistance to every referral we receive, never turning people away or putting them on long waiting lists. 2024 brought us many lows, but also some wonderful highs—stories of hope and recovery that remind us why we do what we do. I am incredibly grateful for our amazing team of volunteers who pour their hearts into this work every day. We may be a small team, but our determination and compassion are boundless. Looking ahead, we hope for a resolution in January regarding the £50,000 bill from our energy provider, a mistake by them that could threaten our operations. We’re deeply grateful to Octopus Energy for stepping in to support us, both through their fantastic calendar (proceeds of which will be donated to the charity) and behind the scenes in our case with the ombudsman. We also want to take a moment to thank the smaller companies who have stepped forward to help us—your support has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, we’re committed to shining a brighter spotlight on your contributions. Lastly, thank you to every supporter, donor, and follower who has stood by us this year. We’re a small, resourceful charity with no fancy PR teams or social media experts—just one or two people working tirelessly volunteering behind the scenes. We wish you all a healthy and happy 2025. Thank you for continuing to stand with us as we move forward into another year of helping those in need. With gratitude, Michelle & The Dogs on the Streets Team 🧡🥳🥂 dogsonthestreets.org/donate-… shoptopus.energy/products/ch…

We vehemently condemn @NorfolkCC reckless continuation of the Norwich Western Link project. The recent 'Regulation 25' letter exposes glaring incompetence in WSP's documentation, demanding extensive investigations that will drag on for months. It's outrageous that £27,000 of taxpayers' money is squandered daily on this ill-conceived venture, despite a tidal wave of public opposition—5,000 consultation responses, predominantly objections, have been blatantly disregarded. Natural England's refusal to issue the essential 'bat licence' underscores the council's staggering environmental negligence. This project stands as a testament to Norfolk County Council's failure to act in the public's best interest, offering zero benefits while lining the pockets of WSP and NCC highway officers. David Pett, one of our campaigners, states, "Norfolk County Council's persistence with this project is both environmentally and financially irresponsible. We cannot continue to ignore the voices of thousands who stand against this destruction. It is imperative that we act now to halt the project and pivot towards sustainable, community-focused alternatives." We demand an immediate cessation of this destructive project. It's high time for the council to stop ignoring its constituents and its environmental duties. The focus must shift to sustainable traffic management solutions that respect both the community and the natural world. It's imperative that Norfolk County Council heeds the call for responsible governance and environmental stewardship. @DanGrimmer24 @guardianeco @LouHaigh @labourlewis @CllrTerryJermy @BenGoldsborough @AliceMLabour @SteveMorphew @Steffanaquarone #StopWensumLink #ProtectWensumValley #SaveNorfolkCountryside #WildlifeConservation #HazelDormice #HedgehogHabitat #EnvironmentalProtection #PreserveNature #CommunityActivism #SustainableDevelopment #NatureNotConcrete #LevellingUpAct #ProtectOurLandscapes #BiodiversityMatters #FutureGenerations

Doesn't this make you mad? It makes me SO MAD.
Despite numerous sexual misconduct accusations, Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, Trump & Matt Gaetz are elevated to positions of power - while their victims are silenced & shamed. The ugly reality of American misogyny.

Tory-run Norfolk County Council is failing our young people 😡 I was horrified to learn that 60% of outstanding care plans for SEND children were incomplete within the legal 20 weeks limit. I'll continue using my voice to ensure these families get the help they deserve.

1/ 🧵 Aneurin Bevan, born on this day in 1897. As Labour's Minister of Health and Housing, 1945-51, he built 805,000 council houses whilst insisting on high standards: homes were one-third bigger than the pre-war average, a three-bed home had two inside toilets.

It has long been considered lucky to see a robin in your garden, possibly because there is an old belief that robins hold the spirits of loved ones. The saying ‘robins appear when loved ones are near’ surely becomes more special as we head towards December. #LegendaryWednesday

Community note
£600 a year across 6 sites is a “peppercorn rent”: a small amount legally required to create a lease and therefore give rights to tenants. It is usually asked for by the tenant not the landlord, as tenants’ rights are worth far more than £100. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppercor…

The government's Family Farm Tax will hit hard-working, honest Norfolk farmers hard. It's causing untold distress and anguish. That's why I'm fighting for this to be looked at again.
