I would personally rather the state forced big tech platforms to create a heavily regulated internet for young people, akin to 2000s / early 2010s internet (not that it was regulated but the less algorithmic nature)
Chronological feeds built around friend groups, communities, hobbies but heavily monitored for bullying & bad ideas like anorexia, misogyny etc
Make them unable to build followings beyond immediate friends.
My issue with an outright ban is whilst in spirit i agree with the objective to heavily control and remove social media from being such a negative force in young peoples lives.
The issue is there are many careers that are built in the future from knowledge acquired from growing up at least a little online.
As well concerned on data and ID
BREAKING: Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced a social media ban for under-16s.
