#Tortoises can smell even the faintest of scents! 👃 But they don't do it through their nose!
Like most #reptiles, 🐢 tortoises use their throats to #smell. They have a vomeronasal organ on the roof of their mouths and pump air through the nose and around the mouth to use it.
#Turtles are cold-blooded creatures, so it's essential they bask to regulate their body temperature. ☀️
