A CME was published in @JAADjournals on health disparities in dermatology. There were some appalling claims that are inconsistent with established academic literature on health disparities. I think it's important that dermatologists speak up. jaad.org/issue/S0190-9622(21…

The main step by admin would be equal pay for equal work. @MayoClinic published on how to do this in @MayoProceedings by @GFarrugiaMD @SharonneHayes @JNoseworthyMD. Incentive for admin is happy retained staff who don’t have to wonder if they are paid less than colleagues!

In the 11th issue of the award-winning @divadocsbos series created by @philoasantemd, pediatrician Dr. Jeanette Callahan shares her thoughts about health disparities in pediatrics. A must read for all because it takes a village to raise a child. #BlackWomeninMedicine
"We often talk about 'social determinants' in relation to disparities, but I believe nothing determines — rather, many things influence outcomes." — @challiance pediatrician Dr. Jeanette Callahan, in our @divadocsbos series on health and inequities. spr.ly/6019HaOYN

#StopAAPIHate At a time when hate crimes are surging, we must stand together against racism.
Replying to @DrHowardLiu
20 years after September 11th, we are yet again mourning attacks on the Asian American community. The attacks have been in big cities and small towns. They have impacted all generations. The violence is not going away. #StopAsianHate cnn.com/2021/03/17/us/asian-…

I get that it's a big week for #medtwitter, but where is the outrage? Why does racism and murder against the #AAPI community get so easily ignored? This is not meant to shame anyone. I just put this out there. My community is hurting. The silence is deafening. #StopAsianHate
The reported shootings of Asian American women on Tuesday in Atlanta is an unspeakable tragedy – for the families of the victims first and foremost, but also for the AAPI community — which has been reeling from high levels of racial discrimination. bit.ly/3eKmNOf

I am a residency #programdirector and I stand with #DrDennar. We need to support #BlackWomenInMedicine and #BlackMenInMedicine as trainees, as leaders - to intentionally create an environment where they can succeed. @DrJRMarcelin’s words are spot on. #DNRTulane
#DNRTulane is rocking my timeline. Real talk, as a residency APD, I debated whether I should comment. I don’t have these problems in my current role, so maybe I should stay quiet. But I read the entire court doc and cried. Cuz as a Black woman in academia, I am Dr. Dennar.
