When an #Abidjan taxi driver asks me, the foreigner, for a ridiculous fare, I often take a dramatic look inside car, then reply in French, “Where is the buffet? A coffee [included]?” Today, a driver 👏🏽 back, pulled this from under a floor mat & said, “You get a yam!” 😆 #Africa

Two Black boys running a lemonade stand received an unexpected show of support after someone called 911 on them. Instead of shutting them down, Kansas City police officers and firefighters showed up to support them, helping them earn hundreds of dollars. This is what community should look like! Veteran news anchor Jon Snow has shared that he’s living with dementia, speaking publicly for the first time to raise awareness of a condition affecting around 1 million people across the UK.
Jon and his wife, neurologist Dr Precious Lunga, are supporting Alzheimer’s Society @alzheimerssoc and shared the story of Jon’s diagnosis in @DailyMail as part of our Defeating Dementia campaign with the newspaper.

This is genuinely incredible and says SO SO MUCH about the perception of China in the West.
This is the #1 news show in France, and the host - David Pujadas - asks the pundits around the table (a sample of the top media figures in France) if they can name 3 living Chinese people.
That's it: they just need to say the names of 3 living Chinese people, anyone. This should be extremely easy.
Yet not of a single one of them can name a single Chinese beyond Xi Jinping. They do not know a single living Chinese person beyond the president.
That's the level of ignorance of China we're dealing with in the West today, in 2026.

A terrifying roller coaster rescue is underway in Galveston, Texas Thursday. A car became stuck on a vertical track, leaving eight people dangling at the very top of the ride. Firefighters are using a long-ladder truck to reach the riders several stories above the ground. Crews are working to remove each rider from the ride by gently catching them and lowering them into the basket at the end of the ladder, before walking them down an incredibly steep structure to safety.
