I used my 17” telescope in dark Texas skies to capture this: A star much like ours as it dies. You can see the core of the star left behind in the center of the expanding shell. Any planets that were around this star have been destroyed.

Mission VA268: Ariane 6 has reached the launch pad. At Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, the central core of Ariane 6 for mission VA268 has been transferred from the Launcher Integration Building (BAL) to the launch pad. Once in front of the mobile gantry, the stage was raised to a vertical position, a key milestone in the launcher assembly process. This operation initiates the final assembly phase on the pad, where Ariane 64, the most powerful version of Ariane 6, will progressively come together. Scheduled for April 28, 2026, mission VA268 will place 32 @Amazonleo satellites into low Earth orbit, demonstrating once again Ariane 6’s capability to support large-scale constellation deployments. The campaign is underway. #LaunchingAmbitions @Amazonleo @ArianeGroup @esa @CNES @EuropeSpacePort

Stefan Moluf on the Kerbal Space Program frustrations that helped shape Kitten Space Agency. Engine-level barriers pushed him away. KSA is being built with those lessons in mind. #space #spacesim #gamedev

There’s a molecular cloud near the centre of our galaxy containing enough ethanol to fill 400 TRILLION TRILLION pints of beer. Every human alive could drink 300,000 pints a day for a billion years and still not finish it. The universe is utterly unhinged. 🤯 #SpaceFacts #Astronomy

🔴 TOMORROW NIGHT: The last Blood Moon for THREE YEARS. The Moon will turn deep copper-red as Earth’s shadow swallows it whole — 58 minutes of totality. No special glasses needed. Just look up. Visible: N. America, Asia, Australia, Pacific 🧵 Thread with times & science below ⬇️

💡 FUN FACT: This eclipse is part of Saros Series 133, a chain of eclipses repeating every 18 years since 1557. AND during totality, the Moon will occult galaxy NGC 3423 — visible from parts of N. America. Deep-sky objects are rarely occulted during a total eclipse!
