AHRQ funding saves lives, creates essential data, and funds critical research infrastructure, all for a tiny sliver of the HHS/NIH budget
The House's Labor HHS appropriations bill released yesterday would eliminate AHRQ entirely and cut funding across health agencies, like ARPA-H, NIH, CDC, and HRSA. It would decimate access to high-quality, patient-centered care and research. Read @DrSimpsonHSR's statement:

We used state discharge census (ACS) data (2010-2017) covering 63% national population. Among Medicaid-covered uninsured population, expansion associated with 31.6% annual increase in bariatric surgery rate among White population.
