This is crazy. You can't buy plastic knives at the shops but some people can just wander around with daggers...
Vancouver: The pre-trial starts this week for Inderjeet Singh Gosal, who fatally stabbed Paul Stanley Schmidt to death with his kirpan in front of his wife and young daughter at Starbucks in March 2023. Schmidt had asked Gosal not to vape in front of his child.

This remains true
A disturbing thing about Albo and Starmer is that they are ideological robots, programmed with a quiet fanaticism. Both could cut immigration tomorrow. They could help their peoples and be remembered as statesman. But this matters less to them than their demented worldview.

I spoke with @Quillette about my recent pieces for them and Australia's increasingly troubled approach to law and order - a loss of confidence in equal treatment and the public aspect of crime. @zoecabina
.@zoecabina interviews Australian crime researcher Andrew Bushnell about the Kumanjayi Little Baby case—a five-year-old Aboriginal girl allegedly murdered despite repeated child protection warnings—the Bao Phuc Cao voyeurism case, and Melbourne’s black-market tobacco wars, which have fuelled gang violence across Australia. quillette.com/2026/05/24/aus…

No-one ever reads Burke, they just pretend to, so you have a 'conservative' party that acquiesces to revolution.

For anyone who is interested in conservatism, events like this show the need for stating our principles more abstractly and clearly than Burke did, because the constitution he defended is dead, and conservatives will have to start from scratch should we ever have any power.

And no, those principles are not "slow change" or "status quo bias" or whatever silliness you have been taught. That misconception is the whole problem.

How much did the state government pay for this propaganda? No-one with eyes and a memory longer than that of a goldfish could possibly believe this.
Melbourne has been officially crowned the world's best city. It's the first time an Australian city has taken top spot as we outrank the likes of Shanghai, London, New York and Sydney. #timeout #melbourne #topcity #australia

Fake suppliers, fake demand. We do not even know what the real demand for services for the profoundly disabled would be in a non-corrupt environment, much less what it would cost to support them. Abolish the NDIS and start again from scratch.
NDIS EXPOSED: Massive 52 minute investigation with @PeteZogoulas into Australia's immense disability fraud crisis. This is Minnesota on a national scale. The NDIS budget - now approaching $50 billion a year - is closing in on Australia's entire military budget, and there is so much fraud in the system that the official government regulator told the Australian Senate there are not enough judges in Australia to try all known cases of fraud. The entire Australian legal system would collapse if they tried. Up to 99% of alleged NDIS fraud goes unprosecuted. Out of over 7,000 tip-offs alleging fraud in the March quarter of 2025, just 16 cases (0.22%) were prosecuted. So alleged scammers don't even bother to hide abuse. To give you just one example: we visited a West Sydney NDIS provider operating out of the exact same address as a previous NDIS business the Australian government shut down for fraud four months ago. They were using the same accountant and THE EXACT SAME PHONE NUMBERS! When we confronted them on camera, the owners physically assaulted us, smashed $800 worth of @PeteZogoulas's equipment, and staff screamed "RETARD" at us. These people work in disability care. Very legitimate and professional disability service business. Watch the whole thing now. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

The most destructive piece of rent seeking imaginable. Extraordinary that anyone could think this is a good idea - which almost certainly means it will soon be floated here by Albo and his noxious e-safety commissioner.
A New York bill would ban AI from answering questions related to several licensed professions like medicine, law, dentistry, nursing, psychology, social work, engineering, and more. The companies would be liable if the chatbots give “substantive responses” in these areas.

This is an amazing video, and it basically just confirms every suspicion I had about how little politically-active left-wingers think things through. It’s zero. It really is just, “I have to be rabidly adherent to what I’m told or I’m not a good person.”

They want to abolish Australia. That is what the use of "Gadigal" means. "Globalise the intifada" means extending the "struggle" to all postcolonial nation-states. It is not just about Israel or Jews. Plainly seditious.
Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame chants “From Gadigal to Gaza, Globalize the Intifada” Gadigal is the Indigenous place name for Sydney, so she’s calling for “Intifada” in Sydney two months after Islamic terrorists massacred dozens of Australian Jews at Bondi Beach. This is a direct call for communal violence against Australian Jews just two months after a jihadist terrorist attack. Evil person.

Another day, another attack on our heritage. No different from the psychos who have been vandalising statues.
We’re transitioning to a more efficient and economic Defence estate. The Defence Estate Audit highlighted opportunities to strategically divest parts of the estate across the country – sites that are old, outdated and with no current or future need. As a result, we will be able to better invest in the strategic capabilities Defence needs to keep Australians safe.

Years ago, I scoffed at the conceptual art at MOMA - text on a wall, "A wall pitted by a single air rifle shot", with the instruction to imagine it for yourself. Still not sure it is art, but since the whole word is now run by prompts, the artist was clearly onto something.

High inflation is policy, despite what he says. First, the govt knows its spending and mass immigration policies are inflationary but prefers them anyway; secondly, they like inflation on principle, because they are hostile to savings and wealth. They're not trying to rein it in.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers says he won’t be distracted by the far-right of politics and is focused on fixing the cost of living, housing and the economy. This comes as inflation spiked today and an interest rate hike is now all but certain for next month.
