A few years ago, I would not have the courage to be active on Twitter because I would allow the "haters" to define who I am. Nowadays, I tell myself that the ones who see my worth are the ones who matter. The ones who don't are missing out. #SaturdayThoughts #selfcompassion
Yesterday, someone commented how my advice is harming people. Then they blocked me. How does that make me feel? Curious. Empathetic. Would I have felt that way a year ago? No. Twitter can bring out the worst in us, but it also lets us practice being who we really want to be.

1 Even when target known from human genetics, super hard to make new medicines Gene/disease: CFTR/cystic fibrosis Discovery: 1989 Medicine: 2012 @VertexPharma G/D: FBN1/Marfans Discovery: 1991 Medicine: not yet G/D: PCSK9/MI Discovery: 2003 Medicine: 2015 @Regeneron @Amgen
Rare monogenic disease is a great example where targets are or should be completely clear; yet to date truly impactful, life-altering therapies are far fewer and far between than would have been predicted. Speaks to significance of other challenges.
