Perfect placement by the Globe and Mail. Climate disasters are indeed brought to us by RBC and all others who continue to fund fossil fuel expansion while national treasures burn.

Exciting news! Canada is showing leadership with the passage of the Sustainable Jobs Act, Bill C-50.
This legislation requires govt to equip workers and communities impacted by the energy transition with the tools they need to thrive in the green economy. #Cndpoli 1/
For a just climate transition in Canada: we invite the government to implement Climate Transition Plans across the economy, and the Climate-Aligned Finance Act #CAFA, to help align our financial system with a safer global climate.
It's mind-boggling that our governments are still putting BILLIONS of public dollars into fossil fuels every year, working directly against climate action
Canada must put an end to it this year w a strong policy to end all public financing for FF👇

Global warming caused by humans is advancing at 0.26 °C per decade – the highest rate since records began 🌡️⚠️
Warming caused by human activity reached a record 1.31°C in 2023, and the longer-term trend shows a continued rise.
ALT A graphic showing a map of land, including imagery of a factory and a road in the bottom left corner and a farm on the right. White title reads: Impact of human activity on global warming. Left text (in red) reads: Amount of human induced warming increased by 9.2% from 2019 to 2023 on a large red arrow pointing upwards. Right text (in darker red) reads: Change in global surface temperature since 1850-1900, with two red arrows pointing upwards labelled with 1.43°C total change and 1.31°C as the human induced component.
Great story by @CBCFletch.
If the oil gas industry is serious about meaningful climate action, they should be backing the Emissions Cap to the hilt.
Instead, they're asking for taxpayers to prop up unproven carbon capture projects.
