Luxembourg pursues an active and engaged foreign policy.
The faces behind our 🇱🇺 foreign policy are our diplomats.
Once a year, the heads of mission of Luxembourg’s diplomatic representations come together in Luxembourg for the Diplomatic Conference.
They engage in discussions on the priorities of Luxembourg’s foreign policy, which remains firmly rooted in a strong commitment to European values, international law, and multilateralism.
Annual consultations with @UNAIDS in Geneva, to review progress, discuss the implementation of the Global #AIDS Strategy & exchange on the ongoing #UN80 transition process.
We reaffirmed #Luxembourg’s long‑standing commitment to an inclusive, community‑led global #HIV response
Back in Brussels with my European colleagues to discuss Ukraine, the Middle East, the Great Lakes region and have an informal exchange with Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Important to come together at @EqualRightsC - dedicated to protection of 🏳️🌈 #HumanRights - to raise our voices for acceptance, inclusive development & more humanity, and to discuss ways to strengthen tolerance.
Sexual orientation is not a choice, but the way we deal with it, is.
Thank you @CIDfeminism and @IPWlux for organising a conference on this very relevant topic. I’m looking forward to joining you on the 6th of November at @neimenster !
The new law banning women’s voices and bare faces in public is another peak illustrating the Taliban’s gruesome efforts to deprive Afganistan’s women & girls of their most basic rights - of being heard and seen. It’s not ‘virtue’ but discrimination. XB
Proud to head a Ministry which champions women’s rights and empowerment, both internationally as well as within @MFA_LU🇱🇺
Thank you to all our inspiring #WomenInDiplomacy who promote our country abroad, defend human rights & multilateralism and aspire to make this world better!
On this Int’l Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict #Luxembourg condemns all attacks on hospitals & other healthcare facilities
🏥 should be places of safety and healing for all those injured in conflict, including survivors of sexual violence
Let’s end #CRSV
Welcome to Luxembourg, dear @Tsihanouskaya !
Glad to have had the opportunity to exchange views on latest developments, especially the #HumanRights situation in Belarus.
I reaffirmed Luxembourg's unwavering support for a free, democratic and prosperous #Belarus.
I’ve seen the work of #UNRWA in 🇵🇸, they are essential for the population. After the Colonna report which UNRWA is implementing, it would be incomprehensible if 🇮🇱 Knesset voted a law to consider them as terorrist organization. XB
Thank you to Robert Harmsen, @gendroa1 and @unesco_lu for inviting me to the event on the Diplomacy of Human Rights @Uni_lu and to the students for the important questions.
Inspired by the comprehensive work of @coe on human rights, democracy & the rule of law in our region and beyond. European #HumanRightsAmbassadors are encouraged by the many insightful discussions we had over the last 2 days in Strasbourg!
